The 26-year-old shuttler defeated Ramraj 21-13, 16-21, 21-13 in an all-Indian semifinal to book her maiden BWF World Tour final. With her place in the title clash confirmed, Chaliha is guaranteed a silver medal and will now aim to upgrade it to gold.
Chaliha dominated the opening game with aggressive attacking play before Ramraj fought back to claim the second game and force a decider. Regaining her rhythm in the third game, Chaliha raced to an early lead and maintained control to seal the match.
The final marks a significant milestone in Chaliha's career, coming just months after she returned from a medial meniscus tear in her right knee that kept her out of action for nearly three months. Since making her comeback in May, she has impressed with consistent performances, including a semifinal finish at the Macau Open.
Chaliha will now take on China's Han Qianxi in the final as she looks to clinch her first-ever BWF World Tour title.
