GUWAHATI: Two teenage brothers were killed and their mother was injured after a landslide caused a rented house to collapse in Upper Penli Ward near the Sangtam Baptist Church Pastor's Residence in Nagaland's Mokokchung district on Wednesday, July 29.

The deceased have been identified as Muwalong Sangtam (19), who was studying in Class XII, and Thsidiba Sangtam (16), a Class XI student. The brothers, sons of Merenba Sangtam from Alisopur village, were students of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School (QMHSS).
According to the Eastern Nagaland People's Union Mokokchung (ENPUM), the family was inside the rented house when the landslide struck, causing the structure to collapse. The two brothers died in the incident, while their mother sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
ENPUM said a prayer service was held at the Sangtam Baptist Church compound before arrangements were made to transport the bodies to their native Alisopur village, where the brothers will be laid to rest.
