GUWAHATI: Assam’s flood-related death toll has risen to 75, with 11,44,733 people affected across 25 districts, according to the latest flood update covering the period from April 29 to July 28.

The highest number of deaths has been reported from Sivasagar (37), followed by Charaideo (20), Jorhat (9), Dhemaji (3), Golaghat (2), Kamrup (2), Sonitpur (1) and Kamrup Metropolitan (1).
As many as eight people remain missing, including seven from Sivasagar and one from Dhemaji.
The floods have affected 77 revenue circles and 2,185 villages across the state.
Authorities have set up 215 relief camps, where 71,312 people are currently taking shelter. Another 1,718 relief distribution centres have been opened to provide essential assistance to affected residents.
The latest update also recorded significant damage to residential properties, with 1,368 houses fully damaged and 11,066 partially damaged.
Meanwhile, 29,987 people have been evacuated from flood-affected areas as relief and rescue operations continue across the state.
