GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet has approved an additional support of ₹200 per quintal for farmers, taking the total Minimum Support Price (MSP) to ₹2,640 per quintal. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held on November 3.

The Cabinet also approved an amendment to the Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964, to introduce a provision for dismissing government employees found indulging in polygamy.
Under the proposed amendment, employees dismissed on this ground will also be barred from future government employment.
