GUWAHATI: A Banaras Ghats-themed pandal is set to be the major attraction at this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Joymatinagar, Pandu. The theme will recreate the ghats of Varanasi, highlighting the architectural and cultural beauty associated with the city, while the pandal will feature a distinctive South
Indian-style Ganesh idol.

The celebrations will begin with a grand opening on September 13, followed by the main puja rituals from September 14 to 19.
The festivities will be held at Joymatinagar Club, located near Joymatinagar Hospital in Pandu.
According to the organisers, the celebration is being planned with an estimated budget of around ₹8 lakh.
The pandal and its detailed theme have been designed by a well-known artist who was also behind last year’s Operation Sindoor-themed pandal at Joymatinagar, Pandu.
