Man Held with Fake Currency Notes Worth ₹80,000 in Guwahati’s Khanapara


 

GUWAHATI: A man was apprehended by Dispur Police from the Khanapara area in Guwahati after fake Indian currency notes (FICN) worth ₹80,000 was recovered from his possession during a routine patrolling operation, police officials said on Saturday, May 9.

The suspect was intercepted on suspicion during patrolling in Khanapara. Upon questioning, he identified himself as Aijul Ahmed, son of Amir Ahmed, and a resident of Takeliputa under Samuguri Police Station.

Police said a search of his bag led to the recovery of counterfeit currency notes amounting to ₹80,000. The fake notes were subsequently seized by the police.

Necessary legal action has been initiated in connection with the case. Further investigation is underway.
