GUWAHATI: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced two new digital features on the RajmargYatra Mobile App to make highway travel more convenient and user-friendly. The new additions include a Digital Local Pass and the AI-powered MargMitra Help Centre.

The Digital Local Pass allows eligible commuters living within a 20-km radius of a toll plaza to purchase their monthly local toll pass directly through the app, eliminating the need to visit the toll plaza or submit physical documents. The service has been launched at the Mundka–Bakkarwala Toll Plaza on Delhi's Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) and will be expanded to more toll plazas across the country in the coming months.
The digital system uses DigiLocker, VAHAN, and GIS-based verification to automatically confirm a commuter's address, vehicle details and FASTag, making the process faster and paperless.
NHAI has also launched MargMitra, an AI-powered digital help centre integrated into the RajmargYatra App. The platform allows users to type or speak queries in 22 Indian languages and receive assistance on services such as FASTag recharge, KYC, refunds, annual and local passes, and grievance registration.
Users can also track complaint status, file appeals, check FASTag blacklisting, view pending e-notices and report road safety issues through the app.
According to NHAI, the new features are part of its efforts to strengthen digital services for highway users under the Digital India initiative. The authority said the RajmargYatra App has already facilitated the sale of over 80 lakh Annual Passes, reflecting growing adoption of its digital services.
