GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet, at a meeting held on Tuesday, August 11, has approved a revised payment structure under the Chief Minister’s Foreign Language Initiative for Global Human Talent (CM-FLIGHT), along with a ₹118.58-crore budget provision for the Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Scheme and priority rural development works under VB-G RAM G.

Under CM-FLIGHT, the payment structure for Foreign Language Training cum Implementation Partners (FLTIPs) has been revised to improve cash flow and reduce the financial burden on candidates.
As per the revised structure, the training support cost will be released in three milestone-linked tranches. The first tranche of ₹30,000 will be released after a candidate completes three months of training, followed by another ₹30,000 after six months.
The remaining ₹40,000 will be released after completion of the training and submission of certification of the Foreign Language Proficiency Test.
Other provisions of the CM-FLIGHT scheme, including ₹50,000 post-placement assistance for candidates, eligibility criteria and institutional framework, will remain unchanged. The revised payment structure will involve no additional financial implication.
The Cabinet has also approved a ₹118.58-crore budget provision for 2026-27 under the Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Scheme. Financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month will be provided to 48,366 candidates selected in 2025 for the remaining applicable period of 10 months.
The Cabinet further approved priority works under the VB-G RAM G Scheme through convergence with Finance Commission Grants and other eligible resources.
The approved works include interlocking paver block roads, women-led rural haats, school boundary walls, crematoriums and waiting sheds, individual beneficiary schemes, and community halls that can be used as gyms or wellness centres.
