The protest march was held in front of Nehru Park where SFI members raised slogans demanding accountability over the controversy surrounding the national-level medical entrance examination. According to the organisation, the police intervened during the demonstration and stopped the procession midway.
SFI alleged that repeated irregularities and discrepancies have surfaced in examinations conducted by the NTA since its inception, and claimed that the latest NEET-UG paper leak has once again raised serious concerns over the credibility of the examination process.
The student organisation further alleged that the examination leak has jeopardised the future of lakhs of students who spend years working hard and making financial sacrifices to prepare for competitive exams. It claimed that such incidents have caused severe mental stress among aspirants and their families.
During the protest, SFI placed three major demands before the government. These included the immediate abolition of the National Testing Agency (NTA), the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on moral grounds, and a high-level investigation into the NEET-UG question paper leak case.
The organisation also demanded strict action against all individuals allegedly involved in the incident, including what it described as an “exam mafia”.
SFI leaders stated that despite police action, the student community would continue its agitation until their demands are addressed.
