The bag was detected during routine security screening at Terminal 1 on June 26 by personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). It was found unattended at the Automated Tray Retrieval System (ATRS) and was subsequently secured and handed over to the airport's Lost and Found team in accordance with standard security procedures.

Officials said the bag contained USD 10,720, 175 Chinese yuan, medicines and other personal belongings. The name on the bag and the medicine strips helped officials identify the owner.

After reviewing CCTV footage, the Lost and Found team established that the passenger had already boarded a flight to Hyderabad.

Airport authorities, in coordination with CISF and Hyderabad airport officials, subsequently traced the passenger, verified ownership of the bag, and handed it over to an authorised representative.
