GUWAHATI: Educator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk's health has deteriorated after 16 days of his indefinite hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) claiming he has lost 8.2 kg since the protest began.

According to the party, Wangchuk's blood glucose level has dropped to 67 mg/dL, raising serious concerns about his health. Organisers said his condition has continued to worsen as the fast progresses and urged the Central government to respond to the protesters' demands without further delay.
Wangchuk's hunger strike entered its 16th day on Monday, while the CJP's larger protest over alleged examination irregularities reached Day 24. The party has maintained that the agitation will continue until the government addresses the issues raised by the protesters.
The protest has also gained support from several opposition leaders, student organisations and civil society groups, many of whom have visited Jantar Mantar to express solidarity with Wangchuk and other demonstrators. Supporters have called for immediate dialogue between the government and protest organisers to resolve the ongoing standoff.
As concerns over Wangchuk's health continue to grow, organisers have once again appealed for urgent government intervention, warning that further delays could have serious consequences. They have reiterated their demand for swift action and a constructive response to the issues at the heart of the protest.
