GUWAHATI: At least seven people were killed and more than 12 others injured in the early hours of Wednesday, July 1, after a sleeper bus collided with a truck and caught fire on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Dausa district.

The accident occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. near Tanawad village, close to Bandikui, when the bus travelling from Rishikesh to Indore rammed into a truck. The impact sparked a fire that rapidly engulfed both vehicles.
Visuals from the site showed the bus and truck engulfed in flames, with passengers attempting to escape. Officials said several passengers were trapped inside as the fire spread.
Reports said most of the injured were from Madhya Pradesh and Rishikesh, while efforts were underway to identify the deceased.
The injured were rescued and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision and subsequent fire.
