GUWAHATI: President Droupadi Murmu will confer the Padma Awards 2026 at the second Civil Investiture Ceremony being held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on June 23. A total of 65 distinguished personalities will be honoured, including recipients of two Padma Vibhushan, seven Padma Bhushan and 56 Padma Shri awards.

Among the prominent awardees are celebrated playback singer Alka Yagnik, Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma, tennis legend Vijay Amritraj and veteran actor Mammootty. The awards recognise exceptional contributions across a wide range of fields, including arts, sports, literature, education, medicine, science, public affairs, social work and civil services.
Earlier this year, on the eve of Republic Day, the Government of India announced 131 Padma Awards for 2026. The list includes five Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri awardees. Of the total recipients, 19 are women, while 16 awards will be conferred posthumously.
Instituted in 1954, the Padma Awards are among India's highest civilian honours and are presented annually to individuals who have demonstrated distinguished and exceptional service in their respective fields.
