Assam Cricket Museum Inaugurated in Guwahati, Documentary on State’s Cricket Legacy Released


 

GUWAHATI: The Assam Cricket Museum was formally inaugurated on Sunday, May 18, at the 91 Yards Club inside the ACA Stadium Complex at Barsapara in Guwahati, marking a significant milestone for cricket in the state.

On the occasion, a special documentary titled “The Golden Innings- Legacy of Assam Cricket” was also officially released.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the museum and released the documentary in the presence of BCCI Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia, ACA President Taranga Gogoi, former cricketers, members of the cricket fraternity and officials of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA).

In a post on X, the Assam Cricket Association said that the documentary traces the journey of cricket in Assam through major achievements, historic moments and the contributions of former cricketers and administrators who played a key role in the development of the sport in the state.

The newly inaugurated museum features a collection of cricket memorabilia, historic photographs, vintage cricket equipment, trophies, archival records and other exhibits linked to Assam’s cricketing history.

The Assam Cricket Museum has been set up as a tribute to the history and legacy of cricket in Assam. It houses rare memorabilia, historic photographs, vintage cricket equipment, archival records, trophies, mementos and other important items related to the development of the game in the state.

The museum and documentary were conceptualised by BCCI Honorary Secretary and General Secretary of 91 Yards Club Devajit Saikia to honour the pioneers and contributors who helped popularise cricket across Assam.
