The complaint was reportedly submitted by Zen Sadavarte, who accused the woman of causing disruption, using abusive language, and creating a public disturbance during the incident.
The episode took place on Tuesday during a BJP-organised rally held to criticise opposition parties over the defeat of the Constitution Amendment Bill aimed at fast-tracking 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies.
During the rally, an agitated woman confronted Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan while he was speaking to reporters, alleging that road closures had caused inconvenience to commuters.
Reacting to the incident, Mahajan reportedly said the woman’s anger was “partly justified” but her choice of language was inappropriate. He also ruled out any legal action against her.
Meanwhile, Ritu Tawde, the Mayor of Mumbai, expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to commuters due to the rally.
Police have also registered a case against the rally organisers for alleged violation of norms.
