GUWAHATI: Assam Police seized a consignment of Yaba tablets valued at approximately ₹2.4 crore during an operation in Sribhumi district in the early hours of Saturday, June 28, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Announcing the seizure in a post on X, the chief minister said the operation was carried out by Sribhumi Police based on actionable intelligence.
Sharing details of the seizure, the chief minister said, "In the wee hours today, Sribhumi Police, based on actionable inputs, intercepted a ₹2.4 crore consignment of Yaba tablets, meant to destroy our youth. One apprehended."
According to Sarma, the consignment was intercepted before reaching its destination.
One person was apprehended during the operation.
The latest seizure is part of Assam's ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking under the state government's anti-narcotics campaign.
