Assam Police Seize Drugs Worth ₹10.8 Crore in Sribhumi, One Held


 

GUWAHATI: A narcotics consignment valued at approximately ₹10.8 crore has been seized by Assam Police during an overnight operation in Sribhumi district, Assam CM said in a post on X on Friday, June 26.

The operation, carried out by the Sribhumi Police, led to the interception of the suspected drug consignment and the apprehension of one individual. 

Efforts are reportedly underway to trace and arrest the remaining accused believed to be involved in the smuggling network.

Announcing the seizure on social media platform X, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the operation, and commended the Sribhumi Police for successfully intercepting the consignment.

The latest seizure adds to a series of anti-narcotics operations carried out by Assam Police under the state's ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking.
