Auniati University in Jorhat Gets Additional ₹5 Crore Infrastructure Grant


 

GUWAHATI: Auniati University at Kaliapani in Jorhat received a fresh boost on Tuesday, September 15, with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announcing an additional ₹5 crore grant for its infrastructure.

The academic building was constructed with financial assistance of ₹5 crore from the Assam government.

Speaking at the inauguration, Sarma said Auniati University has the potential to contribute not only to human development but also to the development of human character and the broader cause of humanity.

The Chief Minister also recalled his earlier discussions with Auniati Satra Satradhikar Sri Sri Pitambar Dev Goswami regarding the establishment of the university.

Sarma said that during his earlier visit, the Satradhikar had shared his vision for Auniati University. He said the government had supported the vision by providing ₹500 crore for setting up the university.

According to Sarma, he had also assured the Satradhikar that another ₹500 crore would be provided if the initial amount was utilised properly.

Auniati University seeks to integrate emerging disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Data Science with Indian spirituality, cultural heritage and traditional values.

The university is envisioned as a platform for developing a future-ready generation with modern technological skills while remaining connected to Assam’s cultural and intellectual heritage.
