GUWAHATI: Exit poll trends for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election largely indicate an advantage for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), with several agencies suggesting that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s party is on course to secure a comfortable mandate in the 234-member House.

At least three survey firms have estimated that the DMK-led alliance could win between 122 and 145 seats, placing it above the halfway mark required to form the government.
A notable development in these projections is the entry of actor Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which is contesting its first election. Some forecasts suggest the party could emerge as a significant player, potentially influencing the final outcome.
According to People’s Pulse, the DMK alliance is likely to secure 125–145 seats, while the AIADMK-led bloc may be restricted to 65–80 seats. People’s Insight offered a similar outlook, projecting 120–140 seats for the DMK combine and 60–70 for the AIADMK alliance.
Praja Poll, however, indicated a stronger showing for the ruling alliance, estimating 148–168 seats for the DMK and its partners, while placing the AIADMK alliance between 61 and 81 seats. It suggested a modest tally of 1–9 seats for TVK.
P-Marq’s projections also favoured the DMK alliance with 125–145 seats, while assigning 65–85 seats to the AIADMK bloc. In this survey, TVK was projected to secure between 16 and 26 seats, pointing to a potentially influential debut.
Matrize predicted a narrower margin, giving the DMK alliance 122–132 seats and the AIADMK combine 87–100 seats, while estimating 10–12 seats for TVK.
In contrast, Kamakhya Analytics presented a markedly different scenario, projecting 78–95 seats for the DMK alliance and 68–84 for the AIADMK bloc. It estimated a strong performance by TVK and its allies, placing them between 67 and 81 seats—numbers that could make the newcomer a decisive force if such trends are reflected in the final results.
While exit polls offer an early sense of voter sentiment, the actual outcome will only be confirmed once votes are counted.
