According to reports, the price of the 5-kg free trade LPG (FTL) cylinder has also been raised by ₹11.

The latest hike comes at a time when businesses are already facing mounting fuel and transportation expenses, adding further pressure on the hospitality and food service sectors.

Reports further stated that the Centre is currently reviewing India’s fuel security strategy following recent supply disruptions linked to tensions in West Asia, which exposed the country’s heavy dependence on imported energy supplies.

Despite the increase in commercial LPG rates, domestic LPG cylinder prices have not been revised.

Commercial LPG prices have witnessed repeated hikes since the beginning of the year, significantly increasing operational costs for hotels, restaurants, roadside eateries and other food businesses across the country.

State-run oil marketing companies revise commercial LPG prices on the first day of every month based on fluctuations in international benchmark fuel rates and currency exchange movements.
