The Election Commission of India launched the exercise on May 30, in the four states, following its order of May 14 covering 16 States and 3 Union Territories under Article 324 and the Representation of the People Act, 1950.

The drive aims to ensure all eligible citizens are included in electoral rolls while excluding ineligible entries. Citizens aged 18 and above, not disqualified under law, are eligible for enrolment.

Forms submitted to Electoral Registration Officers by June 28, will be included in draft rolls. Those missing the deadline may still apply through Form 6 during the claims and objections phase.

Booth Level Officers are carrying out door-to-door enumeration, distributing forms and assisting voters with submission online or through field staff. They are also enabling fresh enrolments during visits.

Booth Level Agents from recognised political parties can collect up to 50 forms a day and submit them to BLOs before draft publication, with parties allowed to appoint additional agents.

The Commission has urged eligible citizens to actively participate and cooperate with field-level officials during the exercise.

State-wise data shows the scale of the exercise:

Odisha has 3,34,14,856 electors, 38,123 BLOs and 8,391 BLAs.
> Mizoram has 8,75,008 electors, 1,353 BLOs and 3,430 BLAs.
> Sikkim has 4,71,077 electors, 572 BLOs and 681 BLAs.
