The petitioner, identified as Prabal Pratap, introduced himself as "the sovereign" and referred to the judges as "judicial servants" while demanding the registration of an FIR against an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Lucknow.

During the proceedings, Justice KV Viswanathan questioned the petitioner’s conduct, following which he allegedly began abusing the Chief Justice and threw papers inside the courtroom, disrupting the hearing.

Security personnel later escorted the petitioner out of the courtroom. The Supreme Court decided not to initiate action against him, taking into consideration what it described as his "condition."
