GUWAHATI: Assam Police seized banned Codeine Phosphate syrup worth ₹2.1 crore after intercepting a truck in Cachar district, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma shared in a post on X.

The operation was carried out by Cachar Police based on reliable inputs, leading to the recovery of a large consignment of the prohibited cough syrup.
One individual has been arrested in connection with the case, and further investigation is underway to determine further details of the incident.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the crackdown is part of the state’s continued efforts against drug trafficking.
“Our efforts to dismantle the drugs network will continue,” Sarma said in a post on X.
